Talked to Jim Ferguson's wife this morning. She said that Jim was aware of the reunion on Oct. 21st.-22nd. She
said she would have him call me back when he gets back in town. She will also have him contact some of the
Epsilon Chi brothers who were at Lamar during the same period that Jim was. (1964-68)

Tried calling David Woytek a couple times but just got voice mail. Left a message for David on his voice mail to
have him call me at his convenience regarding the upcoming reunion.

Called John Bissell several times over the past couple days but only got voice mail message. I left messages to
have him please call me back. No word from him so far.

Same deal with Bobby Jackson, Called a couple times and just got voice mail. Left message to call me and why
I was calling. No word back from him as yet. With his poor health and living in Reno, Nev. I really don't expect
him to show.

Called Gary Reynolds several times and once again only got voice mail. Left message for him about the
reunion and asked that he call me back. No word yet from Gary as a result of my calls.

Called an talked to Vince Scalco. He was just as cordial and as nice as I remembered him being. He said he
would have loved to attend the reunion but he and seven other guys have an annual golf outing in New Mexico
or Arizona each October and they will all be over there playing golf the weekend of Oct. 21st.-22nd. He said to
not give up on him that he would love to join us at some future function if he can possibly make it.

I talked to John Posey's wife on the phone this morning. I told her why I was calling and all about the 50 year
reunion on Oct. 21st.-22nd. She said that John was still in active practice as a medical doctor and she didn't
know if they could make it or not depending on his schedule. I gave her my phone number and asked that she
have John contact me. She said she would so hopefully we will hear back from him. She was a very nice lady.

Called and talked to Larry Sclerandi yesterday. We had a nice conversation and talked about the reunion and
the old days at Lamar. He told me that he and his wife would be out of town that weekend and thus would not
be able to make it. I asked him, as time permitted, to contact as many of the Epsilon Chi brothers that he knew
up in the Austin area to let them know about the reunion get-together. He said that he would.

Since I don't have an email address nor a phone number for Hulen Selman I was not able to contact him. All I
know is that he supposedly lives somewhere in the Longview, Texas area. Hope someone knows how to reach
him and make contact. I would love to be able to see and visit with Hulen once again. We were very close for a
couple years when we were both at Lamar.

It's getting harder and harder to get all our old Epsilon Chi brothers together for a reunion like this VJ.
Unfortunately, some have simply lost interest, are still working full-time, in poor health, live extremely far from
the Golden Triangle area or nearly impossible to make contact with. I don't think we will have 50 brothers show
up for this reunion which is really a shame since this is the 50 Year Anniversary of the Chartering of Epsilon
Chi. It also may be the last time we will try to have a large gathering of our Lamar Tech brothers. Like I have
always said, "If we can occasionally just get a half dozen of our old brothers together from time to time that is
better than never seeing them at all."  I will keep the faith and continue to call those brothers who I have not
heard back from.

Your Brother forever,

Dennis

Hey Bro Dennis :
I feel your pain & that of my 'lil Bro Veeg ----
I too have made a few calls, as Veeg requested -- pretty much the same results !

I talk to VJ about every other day or two & e/m back and forth at least 3-4 x a day - been trying to bolster his
spirits & give a great big pat on the back for the effort he gives ----  He told me on Wed - "you know, even if we
don't get 50, I get incredible happiness out of just seeing those 'ol smiles and shakin' those 'ol hands "  --I
guess that's why I luv my 'lil bro so - he has an unbelievable amount of energy and enthusiasm for "The 'ol
White Cross gang" ! ! !

I, too, have been basically disappointed with almost no response to the golf idea,  heard from 4 bros,
and I had expected to hear from at least 20, after VJ & I agreed it was a good deal for Sat morn ----
I know there at least that many in the Golden Triangle that could have responded ! ! !
I run another Tourney at "The Babe" on every Sat morn, anyway, so I will just keep on doing that and then
shower & head up to Willie's Place for BBQ, handshakes, laughs and watch the game .

I hate to agree with you about the "loss of interest" but U may be correct ----  BUT --- I do like the
idea of a
handful of bros getting together, if that's the best we can do, occasionally ! ! ! ! !  Maybe we can get
together and go to a Texans game or go watch the Astros lose another one this Spring  --- My wife &
I went to a lot of "stros games this yr until they traded away Pence,Bourn & Keppinger ----  My sons
live in Seabrook and South Shore Harbour, so we go over often, see the grandkids & catch a game
-------------
The point is, I'd like to see some of the guys, and have them see me,
before our last chance is to look down
into a casket and say " you know, I wish we could have gotten together a
few times, before now " ! ! !
You know, if you look at the last year and even the last month, several
have gone on to the "Chapter Eternal"
and we never know when our Jesus will have our room ready and return
and take us home to Himself---------

Wow - I gotta shut up now, 'cause I'm getting a little depressed --------------
Grace and Peace

Dennis, You have definitely gone that extra mile and I can't thank you enough for your faithfulness and effort in
not just calling these guys but for all the encouragement you give me and those you talk to. I like you have
often wondered about Hulen and I will ask Dollinger to see what he can find on him and let you know. I know
you are getting ready for the trip to California and seeing your son.

Thanks again.

In Hoc.
