MARINE SCIENCE/OCEANOGRAPY 1968-2000 Dedicated to all my students and the memories of our field trips to Galveston by Don Henderson

The first field trip that I ever took was at Sam Houston High School some time in the late
60's. The last field trip was taken at Spring High School in 2000.
A VIDEO OF OUR 1972 FIELD TRIP
In time I plan to post pictures from some of our field trips. As some of you will remember, we
had salt aquariums set up in our room, both at Sam Houston '68-'73 and Spring High
School '73-2000. If you watch this video, please make comments at the Youtube site.

This is one of the earliest photos that I found. It was labeled as Debbie and Lonnie
Phillips. Were they brother and sister? Does anyone remember? 8 mile road was
where we collected live angel wing clams.
NOTE: LONNIE RESPONDED AND OUR RE-CONNECTION LED TO LONNIE
PUBLISHING MY BOOK: "DIARY OF A BACKWOODS PREACHER"
The above pictures were from the Sam Houston Marine Science Field Trip in April of '73. I believe
this was my last trip taken at Sam and after this there were 27 years of Field Trips at Spring High
School. Hopefully, these will be posted later.
