This is one of the Valentines I received when we
exchanged Valentines in the Malakoff Elementary 3rd
Grade. I believe we paid about 1 cent for each and I
suppose there were about 30 in our class. 30 cents was
a lot of money for a poor boy back then. It would have
bought you a 9 cent movie ticket, a 5 cent coke, a 5
cent candy bar, 10 cent bag of popcorn and you would
have 1 cent left to buy a piece of Bubble Gum!!
