Vivien Leigh Powers

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Powers of 2428 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas, announce the
engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Vivien Leigh, to Billy Mack
Ingram, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ingram of 106 Dewey,Malakoff,Texas. Nuptials have
been scheduled for July 4, 1964 in the Church of Christ in Port Neches, with Mr. Bill
York, minister, officiating.  The rites will be recited at 4:30 p.m.
The bride-elect, graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School and Lamar State
College of Technology, was named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and
Universities, is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Cap and Gown, Student Education
Association, Cardinal Theatre, and a member of Pi Kappa Delta.  Miss Powers, a
teacher in Garland High School, is first vice president of the Classroom Teachers
Association of Garland.  While living in Port Neches, Miss Powers served as Grand
Worthy Advisor of the Grand Assembly of Texas, Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
The bridegroom-to-be is a graduate of Malakoff High School, attended Henderson
County Junior College in Athens, Texas, and is presently a senior biology education
major at East Texas State College at Commerce, Texas.  His affiliations include the
Circle K at Henderson County Junior College; Sigma Chi Fraternity, and the Student
Education Association at East Texas State College, Commerce, Texas.
Vivien is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Powers of Malakoff and the niece
of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barnett of this city.
