Craig entered Lamar in the fall of 1960. Craig is pictured in the 1961 yearbook, but he was not in the 1962 yearbook, or at least I could not find him. Craig always liked to remain in the background. That’s the way I remember him. He was not interested in promoting himself as illustrated by the fact that he did not try to get into the limelight. His missing pictures may be an indication of this. If one looks at all of his pictures, you see that “Ponder gaze”. The look of quiet confidence; like “I can see beyond what is going on here”!! This is just my idea; someone else could well have a different take. Since Craig was “not pictured” in the 1962 fraternity photo one reason could have been that Craig helped send himself through school by working as a butcher. How did he have time and energy to do all that he did? He was one of God’s special people, and we of Sigma Chi were blessed to be associated with him. All Honor to his name.
